ZigBee Low Power System-on-Chip

Wireless Sensor Network Solution for ZigBee

Designed for ultra low power operation, the ZigBee Low Power System-on-Chip (LPZ600) is based on breakthrough Eterna™ technology, which goes well beyond typical ZigBee products to enable up to 8x lower power consumption than competitive solutions in busy mesh networks.  The LPZ600 enables battery-powered applications previously thought impossible.

Battery-Free Energy Harvesting

Eterna also enables battery-free energy harvesting, where the power for the device is literally gleaned from the small bit of energy created from a button push, ambient vibration, or a hand squeeze.  With competing technologies, energy harvesting is either impractical or requires undesirable feature and cost tradeoffs.   By comparison, Eterna based ZigBee SoCs enable bi-directional communication so you can support commissioning, which eases installation; security, to protect your wireless data; and channel agility, to improve the reliability of your network.

The LPZ600 SoC is sampling now and will be in volume production in late 2011.
