Dust Networks’ SmartMesh-XD System-on-Chip (SoC)-based family of products provides complete wireless sensor networking (WSN) solutions that are proven, scalable and easy to integrate for fast time-to-market applications. SmartMesh-XD products set new power and performance benchmarks for reliable wireless sensor networking by combining extremely low-power radio technology with the industry-proven Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol (TSMP™). Mote-on-Chip™ (MoC) products are network-ready, and include low-power Dust SoCs with completely pre-engineered RF capabilities, robust networking, and well-defined interfaces for easy integration. SmartMesh-XD managers combine highly integrated gateways with sophisticated networking, data, and security management functions for a network of motes. SmartMesh-XD SoC-based products provide a quantum reduction in power consumption, using up to 80% less power than comparable commercially available 802.15.4 radios, which translates to an additional 5X increase in battery life. This dramatic decrease in power consumption provides OEMs with broad flexibility when designing battery-operated or power scavenging monitoring and control devices.
