The SmartMesh-XT Research Development Kit provides all the tools necessary for prototyping and application development based upon Dust Networks’ wireless sensor networking (WSN) technology.

The Research Development Kit is available in two models:

  • 900 MHz  (for use in US and Canada)

The 900 MHz Kit operates in the 902-928 MHz ISM license-free frequency band.

  • 2.4 GHz (for use in the EU, European Free Trade Association (EFTA), US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand)

The 2.4 GHz Kit operates in the 2.4000-2.4835 GHz international license-free frequency band.

The Research Development Kit includes the following items:

  • SmartMesh-XT Evaluation Kit, which includes a demonstration network and documentation that makes it easy to evaluate the wireless sensor networking technology. The Evaluation Kit contains:
    • One Packaged Manager
    • Twelve Evaluation Motes
    • SmartMesh Console—an example control application
    • User guides
    • Batteries, 110-220 VAC power supply, and cables
    • International power adapter kit (2.4 GHz kit only)

  • LVTTL converter and serial cable for connecting a mote to a PC via RS232.
  • Documentation, including serial and XML API guides, datasheets, and application notes that provide detailed information and instructions to enable you to quickly set up a prototype network and send and receive data through the wireless mesh network.
  • Software tools and utilities that enable you integrate the mote into a design and use the manager’s comprehensive APIs for full configuration of the mesh network.
  • Sample code, including API libraries and usage examples.
